Awaken your inner explorer at CERN’s summer science festival, Future Explorers, blending inspiring talks, hands-on and fun activities for all ages and live music under the stars.
The following session would particularly be of interest to you:
A Cosmic Adventure: Exploring Our Planet and Beyond (20:30–21:30)
Moderated by Paola Catapano, this discussion brings together Emeline Bolmont (Centre for Life in the Universe, University of Geneva), Jasper Kirkby (CERN CLOUD Experiment), Elisa Laudi (ALICE Experiment/CERN), and ESA astronauts Luca Parmitano, recently selected by NASA as the pilot of the Artemis III mission, which will circumnavigate the Moon, and Roberto Vittori (both joining live via Zoom).
Together, they will take the audience on a journey through cosmic-ray research, Earth's atmosphere, the International Space Station, the Moon and the search for life beyond our Solar System, revealing how these different fields come together to deepen our understanding of our planet and the Universe.
Beyond this session, the festival offers an evening of inspiring talks, hands-on activities, live music, food stalls and opportunities to meet scientists, astronauts and explorers from many different fields.
