The EPFL Space Center offers limited financial support to students who wish to attend recognized space-related conferences and congresses in Europe during the year.
Eligibility and requirements
To be eligible for financial support, applicants must:
- Have a paper accepted for presentation at the conference.
- Not receive reimbursement for the same expenses from another organization or funding source.
- Agree to provide a short report on the conference, in accordance with the requirements of the EPFL Space Center.
- Wear an EPFL Space Center T-shirt visibly during their presentation and provide a photograph demonstrating this requirement (Space Center T-Shirts available prior to the conference in office PPH 335).
Approval
Financial support must be approved in writing by the administrative assistant or a responsible person of the EPFL Space Center before the conference takes place.
Reimbursement
- The maximum reimbursement is CHF 500 per student, as a total cap covering both travel and conference fees.
- Each student may receive a maximum of one EPFL Space Center scholarship per calendar year.
- Reimbursement is made after the conference and requires the submission of original or digital receipts/proof of payment.
- Expenses reimbursed by another organization or funding source are not eligible for reimbursement.
Availability of funding
This scholarship is subject to the EPFL Space Center's available funding and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible and to obtain written approval before making non-refundable travel or registration arrangements.
